yes you have to go back to bit.ly w/ the same browser and it recognizes you and shows your bit.ly history. (Did you even read Read/Write Web’s review?)

I agree, fun to see who (in which network) clicks on what... Hellotxt and Tweetburner accomplish this as well. Tweetburner links are also picked up by Summize (Twitter). I recently wrote a post that touches on Tweetburner...
