Thanks for citing me as a source on this!

I also thought using new tools to ease knowledge transfer from retiring baby boomers but concluded, after doing some research (http://www.ddmcd.com/retirement_index.html) I concluded that this problem is not thought of as being that severe when compared with other challenges corporations face, HR-related or otherwise.

Dennis McDonald
Alexandria, Virginia USA
http://www.ddmcd.com

Dennis I'm sorry it took me so long to approve your comment, for some reason it ended up in the Akismet filter and I just found it.
While I agree that Boomer's leaving will not crush organization I wonder how serious it will be when you start adding in multiple factors, like unemployment rates, Gen Xers bouncing around careers and Gen Y who is expected to make a big entrepreneurial push.
Even if it didn't cause a problem I think that there will be an opportunity for savvy companies to create some competitive advantage by retaining as much of that knowledge as possible. It could put them ahead of where they are instead of just focusing on putting out fires.

Well I hope it was OK that I blog it. I didn't sign an NDA and he didn't say anything about it. It's been almost a year and they don't seem interested in doing anything with it.

Tac,

I'm sorry nothing came of it. I thought they had a phenomenal idea. I wonder if I can be released from my NDA so I can tell other companies what they had discussed doing as you have.
