Google Wave is still in its infancy. I tend to lean towards the commentary I've heard where Wave becomes a platform much like Microsoft's SharePoint. I don't think it's real value will be seen as a stand alone product but as a platform for developers.

Auraeon, I love nit picky readers. I make no illusions of my personal lack of copy writing skills and take a crowdsourced approach to proofreading my posts :)

I think Wave has a lot of potential, I just don't think it was ready for the hype they pushed on it.

Not to be nit-picky, but you used the word 'later' in place of 'latter.'

As for the actual content of the article; You pretty much hit the nail on the head. As much as I love Google, I think Google Wave may not live very long if there isn't some secret feature it possesses that no one has blogged about yet. I'm afraid it will have the same fate as Orkut and gtalk (seems like no one uses either one now.)

Unfortunately, I'm still waiting for an invite before I can start putting together my truly informed opinion on the product.

Nice to read your thoughts on Wave so far. I haven't spent much time with it as of yet, but I am honestly having a tough time understanding why it's supposed to be so great. It really does just seem like IM & email crammed together. So why can't I just email or use Google Talk? It also seems difficult to find other users and apparently difficult for users to find me since I actually use my own email address to sign into Google and don't have a gmail account. Why doesn't Google have a better way to find users, such as Facebook, Twitter, Myspace, et al.? Or do they and I just haven't found it yet?
