This ain't no beauty contest

But you’re still beautiful to me

I’m just now leaving BlogWorld in Las Vegas. It was a great time, I highly recommend coming next year. One of the things that made this conference so great for  me personally was that I got to meet so many people I’ve known virtually for years in real life. By far more than at most conferences I’ve been to.

Something I’ve realized is that: No one looks as good as their avatar.

I’m not saying any of this to be mean but it’s just true. It’s even doubly true of me. I’m sure that some of it has to do with the fact that we were all sleep deprived in Las Vegas and I’m not sure if some people were ever totally sober.

But we all do it, you know it’s true. Sometimes it even makes it hard to recognize people when you finally meet them.

It’s even worse of people that wear hats in their pictures, or don’t wear their glasses in their picture (guilty). And people who have  cartoons of themselves? Forget it. I have no idea who you are.

But that’s one of the things I love about everyone to. This is no beauty contest. No one cares what you look like – at all. Let’s be honest we’re all a bunch of computer geeks that sit behind our computers all day, eat like crap and don’t see enough sunshine.

But to me you all are the most beautiful people in the World (with the exception of my wife of course). You’re compassionate, passionate and the smartest group of professionals I’ve ever known. (Maybe I just need to get out more.)

I love every single one you, JUST THE WAY YOU ARE :)

Yeah I know, you don’t care, I’ve just insulted all of you. But I know you’ll all forgive me because that’s how great you are.
