Agreed but my point is that “to blog” doesn't even mean you have to write anymore. My music blog is a blog and I don't have to write a single word. If writing isn't “your thing” then importing a feed into Tumblr only requires you curate the content you are already reading.

I know this is still too much for some but at what point does getting dressed or bathing become to much work?

I think there may be a bit of confirmation bias, in that a lot of folks in the MarComm/Tech world have a natural propensity toward writing that the general populace doesn't. Some people just don't have a passion for it, and the ease of the tools (hey, pen and paper is even easier, doesn't mean everyone uses 'em) doesn't have as much of an effect on people's interest as one might think.

That said, the technical barriers to 'just starting' have never been lower than right now.
