Despite my personal lukewarm feelings for Facebook, I find myself intrigued with the functionality of Facebook Pages and the trend of them replacing microsites. I also find myself looking for more resources like this.

TopTenREVIEWS today announced it has acquired the Consumer Media Division of Imaginova Inc., a privately held company based in New York City. Included in the acquisition are Space.com, LiveScience.com and Newsarama.com. As part of the ongoing expansion, TopTenREVIEWS has established the TechMediaNetwork to incorporate these properties.

TopTenReviews was as solid a startup as they come in the VC world. I became familiar with them when I was the EIR at Highway 12 Ventures.

They were established and profitable before raising money (I know unheard of). They have an amazing focus on metrics and know how to turn traffic into money. They have multiple revenue streams and I'm not at all surprised to see this acquisition. Taking their model and applying it to similar sites is a no brainier.

Uninteresting product, contest, social media/Facebook, spokesperson/hot model and quote written for her by the PR team that she may have actually approved before hand although most likely it was "her people" that approved.

While most enginerds get really excited about the mountains of data flowing freely across the Web what excites me the most is the the poser of focused data. Data focused on a user or a specific site or even a specific segment is where I think the real interesting stuff is.

Great post from IR Web Reports. Such a great example of a network on top of a network. The implications are staggering.
